What Is the RF Series Smart Lighting Control System?

The RF Series is Alrouf's flagship wireless lighting control platform. Each system pairs self-powered Wireless Kinetic Transmitters (no wiring, no batteries) with compact RF Receiver Controllers that manage on/off switching, dimming, scene control, roller shutters, and sensor integration. Devices communicate over RF 433 MHz, 447 MHz, or 923.6 MHz radio frequencies and can be bridged to Tuya, MQTT, RS485, or KNX ecosystems through dedicated gateways, enabling full smart-home and smart-building integration without rewiring existing infrastructure.

Key Features

  • Battery-Free Wireless Kinetic Switches
  • Multi-Protocol RF: supports RF 433 MHz, 447 MHz, and 923.6 MHz frequencies for global compatibility
  • Wide Controller Range: on/off, 0-10V dimming, phase-cut dimming, PWM/RGBW, roller shutter, dry contact, and fan speed control

What is RF-controlled lighting?

RF-controlled lighting uses radio frequency (RF) signals to wirelessly transmit commands from a switch, sensor, or controller to a receiver connected to the lighting system. The Alrouf RF Series operates on RF 433 MHz, 447 MHz, and 923.6 MHz frequencies, enabling reliable wireless lighting control without additional wiring. Combined with battery-free kinetic switches, the system offers a flexible and maintenance-free solution for residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.

How do wireless lighting control systems work?

A wireless lighting control system consists of a transmitter, such as a switch or sensor, and a receiver controller installed near the lighting fixture or electrical panel. When a command is sent, the receiver executes the programmed action, including switching, dimming, scene activation, or automation control. The Alrouf RF Series simplifies installation by eliminating communication wiring between switches and controllers, making it ideal for both new projects and retrofit applications.

Can I control LED lights with a phone using the RF Series?

Yes. The RF Series can be integrated with smart control platforms through dedicated gateways. By connecting an RF-to-Tuya Gateway, users can manage lighting through the Tuya Smart Life mobile application on iOS and Android devices. The RF-to-MQTT Gateway also enables integration with Home Assistant and other building automation platforms for remote monitoring, smartphone control, and voice assistant compatibility.

Can RF lighting systems be retrofitted into existing buildings?

Yes. The RF Series is specifically designed for retrofit projects where installing new control wiring is difficult or costly. Battery-free kinetic switches require no electrical wiring, while compact receiver controllers can be installed inside existing switch boxes, ceilings, or control panels. This allows lighting upgrades with minimal disruption to building operations and interior finishes.

What is a kinetic (battery-free) wireless switch?

A kinetic wireless switch is a self-powered switch that generates the energy required to send a wireless signal when pressed. Unlike traditional wireless switches, it requires neither batteries nor electrical wiring. Alrouf's Wireless Kinetic Switches use Micro-Energy Acquisition (MEA) technology to convert mechanical energy into a wireless RF signal, providing a maintenance-free solution with a mechanical life exceeding 100,000 operations
